KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 ― Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar married Khazanah Research Institute's senior research associate Yin Shao Loong yesterday.

As for Yin Shao Loong, he was married to filmmaker Tan Chui Mui and has one son together before splitting in 2019. Nurul Izzah divorced in 2015 after being married to businessman Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Ahmad in 2003 and had two children together. Both Nurul Izzah and Yin Shao Loong were previously married and has children from their previous marriage.

Last year, Nurul Izzah took up the cudgels for the environment and demanded the federal government revoke approvals granted for the Penang South Reclamation project. Nurul Izzah cut her political teeth at a young age and also had led street rallies against her father’s jailing. Nurul Izzah, known as the “reformist princess” because of her reputation for championing the same anti-corruption and multiracial agenda as her father, is the MP of Permatang Pauh in Penang.
