This is not the first time Perak fans were involved in a quarrel with Kelantan fans. In 2017, a fight occurred between fans of the two teams, also at the same venue. The incident also saw the windscreen of a tour bus rented by Perak fans damaged when Kelantan fans were believed to have hit it with stones.
