Heavy rainfall and possible flooding are forecast across central and eastern Peru through at least Aug. Landslides are possible in hilly or mountainous areas, especially where heavy rainfall has saturated the soil. Sustained heavy rainfall could trigger further flooding in low-lying communities near rivers, streams, and creeks. Heavy rainfall forecast across parts of central and eastern Peru through Aug. Yellow heavy rainfall warnings are in place across the rest of the affected area. 22, the National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru (SENAMHI) has issued orange rainfall warnings across northern and central Amazonas, eastern Junin, eastern Huanuco, most of Loreto, eastern Pasco, most of San Martin, and western Ucayali regions.
