KUALA LUMPUR: Royal Lake Club has revoked the patronship conferred on former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak with immediate effect.
"The club is perfectly entitled to make such a decision as it wants to," he told the New Straits Times today. He added that Najib's name will be removed from the Royal Lake Club website soon. "This was due to the fact he was convicted by the Federal Court on Aug 23.
Royal Lake Club Kuala Lumpur, one of the oldest social clubs in the country, has removed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak as its patron.
At the time, SRC was a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Bhd. But he will only be spending 12 years behind bars as the court also ordered that the jail terms run concurrently. The letter was signed by its president Manjeet Singh Dhillon.
