Martinez wins United's Player of the Month (Manchester United)

Argentinian centre-back Lisandro Martinez has been named Manchester United's Player of the Month for August 2022.

It is also the first time a new signing has picked up the award in their initial month with the club since former Reds winger Daniel James back in August 2019 - a testament to Lisandro's instant impact following his transfer from Ajax. Martinez becomes the first defender to win United's monthly award since Luke Shaw received it twice in a row, in February and March 2021. Lisandro Martinez has picked up Manchester United's Player of the Month award at the first attempt following his standout performances against Liverpool and Southampton in August.
