Pusaka celebrating Malaysia Day with 'Seni Reog' and 'Manora ... (Malay Mail)

PETALING JAYA, Sept 12 — Add some culture to your Malaysia Day celebrations this weekend with two unique performances, Seni Reog and Manora.

The series is supported by a grant from Cendana under the Art In The City Public Art Commissioning Programme 2020. Meanwhile, Manora is a folk dance-drama originating from southern Thailand, and is practised by the Thai community in Kelantan, Kedah and Penang. Seni Reog is a performance art tradition originating from Ponorogo in East Java, Indonesia, and is still practised by communities of Javenese descent in Johor.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 — Annual flash mob event Keretapi Sarong is making a comeback with additional stations announced for this year's Malaysia Day.

It will be held at the KTMB Ipoh’s station in collaboration with Kelab Sosial Ipoh. The programme objectives are to uphold the sarong as a symbol of unity, showcase the diversity in Malaysian culture and encourage the use of public transport. “For this year, we’ve added a few more stations which are the KLIA Transit station and Putrajaya as well as the KL Sentral’s KTM station to widen public access.
