Louis San Miguel, a Stop & Shop checkout cashier until age 95, a veteran, husband and father to four daughters, died Sept. 7.

After his military service, he went to the University of Vermont on the GI Bill, majored in accounting and graduated in 1950. He and his wife moved to Quincy and then Braintree, where they raised four daughters and lived in the same house for 56 years. He said he wanted to work until age 100 but retired at age 95 after the pandemic began in 2020.
