LETTER | Mahathir needs to reflect before criticising Anwar (Malaysiakini)

LETTER | Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is free to form his opinion on whether he is confident or not in Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Mahathir has done plenty for Malaysia, resulting in both good and bad, and we give credit where credit is due. But, before commenting on the topic of confidence, it would be best for Mahathir to assess and contemplate the people’s loss of confidence in himself, his party, and his coalition. If only Mahathir realised this and did not let emotions get in the way. Mahathir should know that inflation is a combination of various factors, some areas being less within the control of the government. It is best to digest, contemplate and accept the reality before commenting on the matter. Anwar could’ve focused solely on economic issues but he ended up having to juggle cleaning up someone else’s mess of poor governance and integrity over many decades. Perhaps if Mahathir has other great ideas, he should constructively convey this to Anwar. Let Anwar go. Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is free to form his opinion on whether he is confident or not in Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. We give credit where credit is due, but enough gloating on this. Even Mahathir has left the party he founded. Talk about the utter loss of confidence.

Worry no more, Mahathir - Anwar can do a far better job than you did ... (Aliran)

For his own good, Dr Mahathir Mohamad should just fade away from Malaysian politics. The more he comments on politics, the more he leaves us with no doubt ...

So far, many have been impressed with Anwar’s statements and comments about how he intends to steer the country for the larger good of the nation. For the truthful record, Anwar never agreed to their total prescription, only partial. You scuttled a duly elected government of the people by foolishly resigning. To reinforce this fact, you were trounced in Langkawi. It is an outlandish claim by a man who is totally in the dark about what is happening in the country. For Mahathir to be unaware of this speaks very poorly of him.
