Rest of the bullies also carry a lot of secrets as we get a peek of it in the first two episodes. Coming with less money than them, they carry resentment as they do things for the rest of them. Jung Ji So is her younger version who lives with parents who never cared for her and a teacher who spent more time caring for himself than giving her the benefit of the doubt. Im Ji Yeon is the same, she shows so much potential even in the first two episodes. His sunny disposition and him falling for her unbeknown to him is a sweet sight to see. Beauty helps her seem sweet but her acting as a bully transports you to the mind of the victim. Park Sung Hoon’s little appearance gives a lot of impact as he takes over the room with his greedy aura. The star of the show, Song Hye Kyo steals your attention from the beginning with her powerful acting and her need for revenge makes the viewer feel the pain she went through. Even so, there are also unique colors that are buried in various parts of the dialogue. The analogy symbolized by Go and morning glory also draws attention. Episode 8 Episode 7 Episode 1 Quite dramatic – especially, the flashback scenes – we bear witness to a hurt and scarred, subsequently obsessed woman. Slow-paced initially, we are introduced to the story – that turns quite violent – and its multiple characters. It is a very dark thriller, somewhat imaginative and with many a plot.

The Glory part 1 lays the groundwork for a revenge plot that has been intricately planned by Song Hye-kyo’s character while giving us a glimpse of what is to happen in the upcoming season. However, I hope that this drama will also bring an after story of what happens to the victim after she achieves her wish for revenge. This especially holds true for Jung Ji-so and Shin Ye-eun who have brought out the right vibes while playing the roles of a victim and her bully respectively. On the other hand, Im Je-yeon’s villainous character stands out for us all as she shows her cruelty to us along with her fears that her dream may collapse. From the fearless victim out for revenge to a damaged girl who can never forget what happened to her through those years and suffers each day while recollecting those painful memories. The Glory brings the story of a young architect aspirant who after severe bullying has to drop out of school.

Eighteen years after being scarred both mentally and physically by especially cruel high school classmates, a woman executes her elaborate revenge plan.
Despite the lack of details, The Glory works as a revenge story because you’re immediately drawn to Dong-eun and want to see her get back at those that scarred her for life. In 2004, after the group comes to her flat in a dilapidated building and tortures her all over again, Dong-eun decides to drop out of school, citing the entire group’s violence as the reason. There are class issues at play here; Yeon-jin’s mother is pretty cruel to her while being able to buy or otherwise influence away all of her daughter’s bad deeds, while Dong-eun lives in a slum with parents who find her to be more of a problem than anything else. That’s part of her elaborate plan to get revenge on each and every one of her tormentors. Dong-eun (Jung Ji-so) and Yeon-jin (Shin Ye-eun) are seniors in high school, and Yeon-jin is the ringleader of a group of popular students who have been bullying Dong-eun. In a new Korean drama, a woman executes her complicated plan to get back at her high school tormentors, eighteen years after the fact.
Directed by Ahn Gil-ho and written by Kim Eun-sook, “The Glory” is a Korean drama series centered around a woman in her mid-thirties who is determined to punish ...
And the fact that she went to the same school as Yeon-jin made him doubt her all the more. He was the group’s loser and was used to doing all of the dirty work for the other members in exchange for money. Dong-eun clarified that she was the one who had sent him the mail that confirmed his relationship with Ye-sol. She believed that instead of a lover, she needed an executioner to help her end the lives of those who had destroyed her. Even though he wanted to believe that he was living a good life, he knew that he was living at the mercy of his wealthy friends, particularly Jeon Jae-joon. She threatened Sa-ra to fill a bag with cash only, after which she would be given the drug she was on. All she had to do was use them at the right time and in the right place. She managed to retain her position only because her husband made enormous donations to the channel. She knew what every member of the group was up to, and she intended to only take action when she had enough knowledge and proof to bring them down. She and her friends punished Dong-eun for daring to speak up against the bullying. Dong-eun knew about her dreams, and she waited for her to achieve them. Moon Dong-eun believed in “an eye for an eye,” and the desire to seek revenge kept her alive.
The Glory Season 1 Review - a solid, sometimes uncomfortable revenge drama. This article doesn't contain spoilers.
She’s alternately sympathetic and faintly terrifying since the belief that she’s justified in her actions is so obvious. So that we buy it, the brutality of her torment during her school years is displayed in great detail and at great length, making long stretches of The Glory an unpleasant watch. Through that, the audience gets narration that fills in some storytelling blanks and gives us an excuse to jump backward and forward through time. Not to be totally defeated, Dong-eun focused on her education and career, but the physical and emotional scars were constant reminders that any potential justice would have to be achieved on her own terms. Even when Dong-eun went to the police and the school faculty, she was ignored. It’s never easy to watch a story about this, about someone being unnecessarily and cruelly tormented, but it’s important we do so we understand how commonplace it is in our own reality.
Though the 8-hour long series, "The Glory," Part 1 is about a woman seeking revenge, we don't see any just desserts being meted out.
We saw in the first episode of “The Glory” Part 1 that Dong Eun has finally let her scars show and is ready to attack Yeon Jin. But we believe that she is going to do more than that. She has quit her job and is about to get married to her boyfriend. In that process, we wouldn’t be surprised if she finds a way to leave him penniless and expose his color blindness to the world. All Dong Eun needs to do is reveal the truth, and Hye Jeong will be left destitute. What Dong Eun wants to do is turn the tables in such a way that it is her that the others fear. It reminds us how in “Game of Thrones,” the characters kept saying that “Winter is Coming” for seven seasons, and all it took for it to come and go was one single episode. It is possible that even with such a deadbeat mother, she might have made something of her dreams, but the incessant bullying and the apathy of the authorities caused her to lose faith in the world to such an extent that she didn’t see anything wrong in dedicating her life to the destruction of others. Not to mention that Sara is deeply tied to the church. Before she says goodbye to them all as a 17-year-old, she recounts all their dreams to them. It looks like we will see the actual revenge take place in “The Glory,” Part 2, which is coming out in March, but if that was the plan, shouldn’t Part 1 have been a little more thrilling? She wanted to destroy them from the inside, the way they had done to her.
Here's our full review on the new revenge drama The Glory starring Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, Im Ji Yeon and more. Read ahead to know more.
Moon Dong Eun is the daughter of a single mother who is tired of her poverty and doesn't care about her daughter's future. The first part felt like a set up, Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun putting down traps to catch the 5 people who were responsible for destroying her life and leaving her with scars and emotional injuries that left her with nothing but love for revenge. The solidarity of victim solidarity that Dong Eun formed with Yeo Hyeon (Lee Do Hyun) and Hyun Nam (Yeom Hye Ran), and the perpetrators’ group such as Yeon Jin (Im Ji Yeon), Jae Joon (Park Sung Hoon), Hye Jeong (Cha Ju Young), Sarah (Kim Hieora), and Myeong Oh (Kim Gun Oh). The drama shows how people with money can live in a delusion about being at the top of the world but nothing beats a person’s true need for revenge and they were no match to her. Song Hye-kyo's voice, which has the power to attract attention to the listeners, is cool and sorrowful. In a calm tone, Song Hye Kyo said, “There is no forgiveness, so there will be no glory,” “It will be stimulating and terrible,” “It will be impossible to prevent or eliminate it,” “If you die, you will definitely go to heaven while you go to hell,” “Let’s slowly dry up and die.” For you to fall, for me to fall,” she said, spitting out the core of revenge. Song Hye Kyo, who continued the play with a calm expression while pressing all her pain and suffering deep into her heart, confirmed her acting skills that were 100% immersed in Moon Dong Eun. Her face is sadder and sadder than any sobbing. Moon Dong Eun waited only for that moment and endured the extreme time. Song Hye Kyo, who has received favorable reviews in many romance dramas, expanded her acting spectrum through 'The Glory' which is about a woman who went to the brink of death due to ruthless school violence (school violence), risking her entire life to meticulously and thoroughly prepare for revenge. The terrible pain and wounds even took away Moon Dong Eun's emotions. Moon Dong Eun declared revenge for throwing her life at the targets of revenge.
