Wicker Center for Ocean Enterprise (OE) facility (opening 2023) offer access to premier blue technology-appointed workspaces, a specialized fabrication shop, marine test sites, and vessels. Wicker Center for Ocean Enterprise is a global hub for advancing Uncrewed Maritime Systems (UMS), ocean data science, maritime cyber research, and blue tech workforce training. Located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast between New Orleans and Mobile, the 18,000-square-foot Marine Research Center (MRC) and the 62,500-square-foot Roger F. The proposed training programs build on the tradition of success for these 5-week classes as well as Ocean Enterprise’s Stennis-based Operational Seminars. Wicker Center professionals engaged the Mississippi Gulf Coast Industry base to determine which aspects of Uncrewed Maritime Systems workforce training would help alleviate the shortages caused by COVID-19. “We deeply appreciate AccelerateMS giving us the opportunity to help their mission in these areas.”

“Jesmyn Ward is an example of black excellence, and it is fitting for her to kick off our Black History 365 programming. Ward received her master’s in fine arts from the University of Michigan and is currently a professor of creative writing at Tulane University. Queliah then reached out to Ward’s team to invite the world-renowned author to campus for a lecture and book signing.” We now know that nothing is outside our reach, and we will continue to make impactful changes and support student initiatives on the Gulf Park Campus.” “Queliah worked to enhance the quality and scope of our continuous Black History programming throughout 2022,” said Langston.
