Stream It Or Skip It: 'Love To Hate You' On Netflix, Where A Woman ... (Decider)

The way the two romantic leads in this series meet is pretty contrived, even for a K-drama. But it's still very watchable.

Our Take: The circumstances around how Kang-ro and Mi-ran get together in Love To Hate You is about as contrived as it gets. Her character is an intriguing one, especially in a K-drama, and Kim plays her with a guilt-free, gleeful verve. She and Na-eun are going to room together, and Mi-ran is going to pay most of the rent. Mi-ran is a lawyer; she got a law degree against the wishes of her father. After that incident, she overhears Kang-ho ranting about his co-star to Won-jun, and she immediately puts him on her shit list. Won-jun tries to keep Kang-ho from talking to her, as requested by the director, because in the past he’s told his co-stars exactly how he feels, driving them away.

'Love to Hate You' (2023) Netflix Series: Extremely Funny Series on ... (Martin Cid Magazine)

Love to Hate You is a series directed by Kim Jung-kwon starring Kim Ok-bin and Yoo Teo.

To get over her crush on Won-jun, Na-eun tells him about her most embarrassing habits. It is not at all a Hollywood comedy, this series knows how to laugh at that and re-interpret in Korean style a genre we believed had little left to offer. Oh Se-na, an old flame, re-enters the picture. We are not sure if this is the series of the year, but we did find it really funny. but it does so gracefully and knows how to laugh at clichés and gender stereotypes. For a woman who despises losing to men and a man who distrusts women, love is absolute war, but the line between love and hate is very thin.

Love to Hate You Review: Revival of Heartwarming Rom-Com ... (Leisurebyte)

Love to Hate You (연애대전) is the latest romantic-comedy K-drama that premiered on February 10, 2023, on Netflix. Directed by Kim Jung-kwon, ...

The rom-com genre is finally reviving, and the show will be great to watch during Valentine’s week. The series is entertaining from the beginning till the end, with little to no dull moments. The dialogues remain precise, and each scene contains the substance to keep the show interesting. Feminist subjects were the major theme of the series, yet it lacked depth and followed the usual norms to display a “strong and self-sustaining” woman. However, the plot is predictable and not out of the ordinary. Yes, it is a cliched enemies-to-lovers plot, and yes, the story is predictable, but that does not take away from how incredibly it is executed.

Hate To Love You Episode 1 and 2 Review: Teo Yoo, Kim Ok Bin ... (PINKVILLA)

Netflix released all the episodes of the romantic comedy Hate To Love You starring Teo Yoo, Kim Ok Bin and more.

The first meeting full of distrust and boundaries, and the love story of a man and a woman, like a roller coaster that pushes them away but keeps getting attracted to them, are lightly described. [Kim Ji Hoon](https://www.pinkvilla.com/photos/photos-hyuna-ha-ji-won-seventeens-the8-kim-ji-hoon-and-more-pose-at-a-luxury-brand-event-1206101) became an actor with a striking appearance, but he realized his acting skills and took on the role of Do Won Joon, who turned to management early on. In the play, an unexpected romance with Mi Ran's best friend Shin Na Eun is naturally portrayed with delicate emotional changes, giving a different fun to the Mi Ran and Kang Ho couple. It was her first attempt at a romantic comedy, but Kim Ok Bin, who thought she could radiate even the charms she could do well, perfected her character by perfectly projecting her cheerful and confident side to lawyer Mi Ran. He also showed confidence, "If there is a similarity with Kangho, it is that both of them are good at acting in melodies." It is attracting attention with a story and atmosphere suitable for the sweet Valentine's Day season.

Love to Hate You Season 1 Review - Contrived but entertaining (Ready Steady Cut)

This review of the Netflix K-drama Love to Hate You Season 1 is spoiler-free. It's February, the month of love and mediocre film and television, so it's no ...

Love to Hate You is a very different, much lighter, and more absurd affair, even if it also postulates gender roles, perceptions, and identities. I planned to like this show a lot less than I did, honestly, since I’m not especially romantic myself, but then again neither is Love to Hate You. But for a February release, it does the job well enough, delivering an always-watchable, sometimes quite funny experience that is just a touch too long for its own good. [Kim Ok-vin](https://readysteadycut.com/person/kim-ok-vin/)) is no stranger to smacking men around for the greater good, one of the first – but far from the only – ways in which the show deliberately inverts the typical gender dynamics. Even [South Korean TV](https://readysteadycut.com/k-drama-shows/), usually the safest possible bet for high-quality drama – just look how much of a fuss people made about the last Korean binge-drop, [The Glory](https://readysteadycut.com/2022/12/30/the-glory-season-1-review/) – is getting in on the action with Love to Hate You, a ten-episode romantic comedy series that combines the contrived unlikely lovers concept with a bit of high-kicking weirdness. Needless to say, these two opposites are fated to attract, and once the show conspires to bring them together it kicks into a slightly higher gear, though admittedly not one high enough to sustain ten long episodes.

You can stream Love to Hate You Season 1, Episode 10, “A Passionate Goodbye”, exclusively on Netflix. So, Mi-ran and Kang-ho do end up together. Luckily everything works itself out and Love to Hate You builds towards a happy ending. On the contrary, he stages a very grand and public marriage proposal that Mi-ran actually rejects in order to spare him further humiliation and character assassination. Society is ill-equipped to deal with a woman who behaves in the same way as a man at the best of times, but when that man is a beloved public figure? The workaround seems to be announcing a break-up but carrying on a relationship in secret, but not everyone gets this memo, including Won-jun, who takes the opportunity of presumably never seeing Na-eun again to confess his feelings for her.

Love To Hate You review: Watch this if you are a K-drama fan (OTTplay)

Kim Ok-vin and Teo Yoo-do's rom-com is for hardcore fans of the genre.

Love To Hate You does not disappoint, and this 10-episode series will certainly appeal to fans of the genre. The show is funny in parts and manages to keep you engaged for the most part. The 10-episode series about two unlikely people falling in love is not unique to South Korean rom-coms.
