Real Madrid vs Al Hilal live online: Benzema starts, score, stats and ... (AS English)

Real Madrid face Al Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup final at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco. Kick-off: 2pm ET.

Has it been plain sailing for Real Madrid to reach the FIFA Club World Cup final? Real Madrid camped inside the Al Hilal half once again but unable to find a way through. A sore one for Cuéllar as he takes a smack in the mouth from Tchouamnéni as they battle for possession in midfield. Marega again leads the charge and lays the ball off in the box to Salem, who tries to sidestep Rüdiger, who gets his body in the way. With Madrid 2-0 up and cruising, they carelessly left the back door wide open as they pushed for a third and Marega was allowed to run from the half-way line unchallenged to slot past Lunin. It appeared as if they were keeping Real Madrid at bay and defending their box well, only for the Spaniards to hit them with two goals in five minutes out of nowhere. I don't want to labour the point but Marega really is causing Real Madrid a lot of problems. Real Madrid shut the door in Al Hilal's face once again! To be the best in Europe and then in the world, our players should be very proud." The credit goes to the players. Marega was a constant menace for the Madrid defence and threatened either side of half-time but Madrid's ruthlessness again appeared early in the second half as Benzema and Valverde appeared to put the game out of sight. "I have to congratulate the people of Morocco for doing their very best for us, I think the organisation was perfect."

Vinicius Junior and Fede Valverde scored two goals apiece to lead Real Madrid to a 5-3 win over Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup final on Saturday.

Al-Hilal stuck around, though, trading goals in a high scoring affair that somehow ended 5-3, with just enough jeopardy to make things interesting. Fede Valverde added a second five minutes later, with Abdullah Al-Mayouf fumbling his relatively tame strike. Instead, it was the standard slew of high-fives and hugs, a reaction more associated with a win over Elche on a rainy midweek in February than the European crown they captured last May.

There is a lot of time left to try to bring the two sides together, Marca notes, but at the same time, the club has to look at other cases as well. Since his first contract extension in June 2019, Tavares has grown as a player. Gabriel Deck and Dzanan Musa have also signed deals that expire in 2024. However, the first contact on a possible extension that was carried out a few weeks ago, has resulted in a considerable distance between the two parties, [according to Marca](https://www.marca.com/baloncesto/acb/2023/02/12/63e80da822601db9318b45b3.html). In 2024, Tavares will be 32, which means that he'll have at least 3-4 more years of quality basketball ahead of him.
