Set up [Salah](https://www.liverpool.com/liverpool-fc-news/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-news-bellingham-salah-26219945) for the opener was a lightning quick run following an Everton corner. The left-back bombed forward when possible and played a big role in [Gakpo's](https://www.liverpool.com/all-about/cody-gakpo) goal, as it was his initial run from deep which set the ball rolling. Still looks a fraction off the pace but the goal will do his confidence well. Should be one of the first names on the team sheet on current form. One of his best performances for a while. Aside from his goal, Gakpo did very little. [Liverpool](https://www.liverpool.com), harassing Everton's midfielders when appropriate and playing some intelligent balls forward. CM: Jordan Henderson - 6/10 - Came back into the XI. Was energetic in defence, won the ball back often and drove forward. James Milner (80' for Henderson) - 6/10 - Did James Milner things. Involved in some sh*tshousery towards the full time whistle. Industrious but not always precise. Salah nearly made it three late on when latching onto Roberto Firmino's flick but the shot was turned round by Pickford. The hosts sprung quickly on the counter again as Andy Robertson burst forward and found Salah. Made five tackles in defence. Didn't stop him making some trademark runs. Aleix Iwobi's lofty set piece was headed back across the box and off the post by James Tarkowski. Dwight McNeil's attempted shot instead broke for Nunez, who quickly combined with Salah before carrying the ball deep into Everton's half. Darwin Nunez crossed towards the Netherlands international but he could only glance his header wide of the far post.
