Golden State’s defensive downtick on the road and offensive aptitude have manifested themselves in a 22-8-1 Over/Under record as a visitor this season. Points were harder to come by the next game against the Lakers, with Memphis shooting just 39% from the field in the 112-103 loss. Without him in the lineup, Memphis lost a pair of games to the L.A. Golden State is a much strong second-half team and the Grizzlies have a net rating of -22.3 in the second half during this three-game skid. That said, the Grizzlies are a much different team in Memphis. They last clashed on January 25 inside the Chase Center, with the Warriors winning 122-120 but just failing to cover as 2.5-point home chalk. Golden State won the first two meetings with Memphis, with both of those victories not surprisingly coming at home. FedExForum is a welcome sight for the Grizzlies, who have been on the road in the midst of the Morant controversy. Their net rating plummets from +7.6 at home to -6.6 on the road, with defense being the biggest culprit. Memphis is the best homecourt defense in terms of advanced rating and that aggressive approach generates 16.2 turnovers per game. Morant’s gun-touting social media post came at a terrible time for Memphis, which is trying to hang on to a Top-4 spot in the Western Conference standings. That’s produced a 39-24-1 record against the first-half spread on the season (second-best), including 21-9-1 1H ATS mark at home.

The Warriors are the favorites. Expect the Grizzlies to find a way to secure a close win, barely covering the spread. Then, they must play tight defense and not allow the Warriors to hit any open shots. The Warriors also allow 117.41 points per game. But a situation like this can also derail a team, and the Grizzlies must exercise caution. Yes, they are second in the Western Conference. The Warriors average 118.1 points per game. Then, they must stop the remaining stars on the Grizzlies from getting hot. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies come into this game with a record of 38-26, and tied for the second seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors come into this game with a record of 34-32 and clinging to the fifth seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors won the two recent games, both of which happened in California. The Warriors also allowed 53.2 percent shooting and 45.9 percent from the triples.

5 seed and creep ever closer to the play-in spots, an unthinkable proposition for the defending champions. Golden State have also now lost three games in a row. Memphis got out to an early 21-point lead in what was a 48-point first quarter, and while Golden State made it close at several points of the night—thanks to a 29-point outing from Stephen Curry—it was never enough to completely climb back into the game.

It wasn’t JMG’s best game, but he did provide the team with some much-needed energy. The team was more disciplined and focused when Iguodala was on the court. he even blocked a pair of shots! In the first quarter of this game the ball got batted out towards the scorer’s table, and looked like it was going to go out of bounds. Maybe his worst since the start of the season. I’m not going to say that Iguodala was great in this game, because that would be ... He attacked the rim. except a Memphis player who hadn’t given up on the play caught up to it while it was still in play, and ended up with a one-on-zero fast break. Thompson was the closest player to it and could have easily grabbed it. which are low, since they’ve been the third-worst defensive team in the league on the road this season. The fact that Curry has played as well as he had these last two games has just made it that much more awful that the Dubs have been mostly non-competitive. They have too much experience and too much talent — even with Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Gary Payton II sidelined — to play like a one-man show.
