Shoriful Islam also comes in for Bangladesh; left-arm spinner Matt Humphreys makes his T20I debut for Ireland.
Many of those came in one Shoriful over, the 11th of the innings, when he pulled a six and hit three fours to take 20 runs. He cut and swept Shakib for fours to kickstart the chase, and then deposited Hasan Mahmud's half-tracker for his first six next over. That made him the first Ireland bowler to take a wicket with his first ball in T20Is. Adair took his third when he removed Shoriful, before Fionn Hand took Shamim's wicket in the final over. He took a wicket off his first ball when he yorked Rishad for 8. Stirling didn't get going at the start, as there were two early wickets, of Ross Adair and Lorcan Tucker, but once he was set, there was no stopping him. This was, however, not the first time a debutant had done this against Bangladesh. Shakib was caught at short midwicket mistiming a pull off Adair, while Hridoy holed out off Ben White in the seventh over. It was Ireland's first T20I win over Bangladesh [since 2009](https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/team/29.html?class=3;opposition=25;template=results;type=team;view=innings)and their first win in any format in the country. Bangladesh's slide started in the second over. One of those sixes was a particularly eye-catching shot, when he reverse-whipped Curtis Campher hit over backward point for six. It was the batting that came unstuck, though.
[BAN vs IRE Live Score]. Ireland tour of Bangladesh, 2023. Results. Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.
Paul Stirling's brilliant knock of 77 has helped Ireland get a consolation win in the third T20I against Bangladesh on 31st March, Friday.
Curtis Campher then played a cameo of 16 from nine balls to ensure the visitors got home with six overs and seven wickets to spare. The chase didn't get off to the best of starts for Ireland as they lost Ross Adair early with the score at 17. As Lorcan Tucker departed with the score at 41, Stirling found an ideal partner, Harry Tector.
Bangladesh was bowled out for 124 in 19.2 overs after choosing to bat first. It recovered from 61-7, thanks to Shamim Hossain's 42-ball 51.
Shamim and Nasum Ahmed (13) put on 33 runs for the eighth wicket. Legspinner Ben White then turned one sharply to get the better of Towhid Hridoy (12) as Bangladesh was reduced to 41-5.Shamim resisted but debutant left-arm spinner Matthew Humphreys (2-10) put Bangladesh in further trouble with a double blow in his first over. His effort was not enough, however, as Ireland raced to 126-3 in 14 overs.
Paul Stirling and Matthew Humphreys starred to give Ireland a seven-wicket victory in their final white-ball match in Bangladesh.
Campher finished the match with a six to complete a dominant victory for Ireland. He was the final batter to fall, giving a catch to backward square-leg off Fionn Hand to ensure all seven of Ireland’s bowlers had a mark in the wickets column. He reached his 22nd T20I half-century off 31 balls before unleashing a flurry of boundaries to accelerate towards the target. Looking to be aggressive up front once more, four out of the first five wickets to fall were caught in the deep on the leg side as the batters looked to clear the rope. Litton Das picked out George Dockrell on the boundary off Mark Adair’s first ball, and Harry Tector struck at the end of the next over to dismiss Najmul Hossain Shanto. The result was Ireland’s first-ever win over Bangladesh on home soil - a significant turnaround on a white-ball tour in which the hosts have dominated with bat and ball.
