WWE WrestleMania 39 Night 1 will be a tough act to follow. Had tonight been a one-night WrestleMania, it would have stood the test of time and competed with ...
The massive reaction for Ripley’s big win was a testament to the quality of the match. The Bloodline storyline was a winner before this match started as they rightfully main evented Night 1 of WrestleMania. Rey and Dominik Mysterio lived past their lofty expectations in a match that paid off every piece of storytelling leading up to the emotional father-son feud. This WrestleMania card was too good for its big matches not to be among the best of the night, but the tag team Fatal 4-Way set a tone that every match had to work hard to follow. Seth Rollins picked up the win, but in five WWE matches, Logan Paul continues to become a human highlight real. On a stacked WrestleMania card, the tag team Fatal 4-Way was a throwaway match that nobody had any expectations for.

The culminating evening will also have Bianca Belair defending her Raw Women's Championship against Asuka.
By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet). WWE WrestleMania 39 Night Two Aired April 2, 2023 live on Peacock and pay-per-view
Belair powered up Asuka and put her down with a sit-out powerbomb on the floor. Belair rolled Asuka back inside the ring and covered her for a two count. Belair performed a deadlift superplex and then covered Asuka for a two count. Asuka came back with a cool series of kicks and then bulldogged Belair to the mat before getting up and kicking her again. Gunther posed with the title while McIntyre and Sheamus were down… Sheamus was slow to cover McIntyre, and then Gunther leapt from the top rope to break up the pin. Bianca Belair had a group of dancers sporting their own ponytails performing on the stage. The smallest and seemingly youngest of the dancers performed a wild move and then Belair came out and danced around her before heading to the ring. Sheamus and McIntyre went back and forth hitting Gunther with chops and the clubbing forearms while the crowd counted along, and then McIntyre knocked Sheamus off the apron. Omos fired shots to the back of Lesnar and then put him in a bearhug. Morgan leapt from the ropes and performed a Codebreaker style move on Natalya to break the hold. Gunther encouraged McIntyre and Sheamus to go at one another, but McIntyre opted to kick Gunther instead. Lesnar smiled and then went for a takedown once the bell rang.
In the main event, it was the underdog versus the “big dog” as Cody Rhodes challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Read on below ...
Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs. Sheamus then clocked McIntyer with a Brogue Kick and it looked like it was over, but McIntyer kicked out! Drew McIntyer locked in a few chops of is own, and then it turned in to a chop-off. Rousey then locked in the armbar on Shotzi and made her tap. Shotzi and Natalya vs. Plus, Natalya put both Green and Deville in a double sharpshooter that was interrupted by Liv Morgan with a drop kick from the top rope. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez vs. But Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey were laying in way. There were a few hits and misses, like Chelsea Green attempting a missile drop kick from the top rope and Raquel Rodriguez not even flinching as she stepped out of the way. Immediately after that, Shotzi landed a crossbody from the top rope to take out Green and Sonya Deville. Omos then chokeslammed Lesnar with chilling ease, and it looked like that would be it. Night 2 delivered plenty of awes as Gunther, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus battled it out for the Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat match.
In a shocking, deflating main event, Roman Reigns retained the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes with help from The Bloodline. Last ...
WWE is a whore for its statistics, and Roman Reigns was the beneficiary for it. Snoop Dogg came in to save the segment by knocking out The Miz and giving him a People’s Elbow. When they stared each other down in the beginning, all I could think of was every great Rocky movie. Given how restless this crowd was getting, if WWE beat Cody Rhodes tonight there might be a riot in Los Angles. Sikoa would go on to interfere again and again, with more heat every time. Drew McIntyre surprisingly got the better of GUNTHER in a heated chop-off. All other on-camera references to this movie were also booed, and that movie spent all that money on marketing for nothing. The internet wrestling snobs thumbed their nose at this match, but there are few human beings who could get the type of heat that Brock Lesnar and Omos just got for a basic opener. Shane McMahon immediately began unloading punches, and the heat temporarily died. The match promptly ended shortly thereafter as Ronda Rousey trapped Shotzi in an armbar. Asuka, a women’s tag team Fatal 4-Way and Brock Lesnar vs. Asuka’s entrance was great as well, with Asuka clones appearing.
Reigns survived by the skin of his teeth and leaves WrestleMania 39 with his record-setting world title run intact.
Rhodes crawled over to Reigns and covered the champion just as the referee recovered. Owens hit Reigns with a stunner and Zayn got a measure of revenge on the champion with a Helluva Kick that sent shockwaves through SoFi Stadium. The action took a spill to the outside as each man power-slammed the other on the ramp. An absolutely chaotic match, well fit for the rivalry involved and the Hell in a Cell moniker. Cody Rhodes: Rhodes relied on his amateur wrestling background and speed advantage to control his powerhouse opponent in the early portion of the match. Belair ducked a cloud of mist, Asuka side-stepped a hair whip, Asuka rolled into an armbar and Belair lifted Asuka into a KOD for the win. Balor was reeling in pain but managed to kick out of a spear from "The Rated R Superstar." The performers did a masterful job of telling a story of friction and feelings of betrayal between Sheamus and McIntyre. Balor found his way back into the match and drove his heels through Edge with a Coup de Grace. The champion powerbombed Sheamus onto McIntyre and subsequently powerbombed McIntyre for the win. The men's showcase match was a hard act to follow but the women put in a strong effort. The mammoth superstar tossed around Lesnar and effortlessly power-slammed him in the early portions of the match.

Natalya/Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey/Shayna Baszler vs. Intercontinental Championship - Gunther (c) vs.
After two full nights of incredible action at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, WrestleMania 39 closed tonight (Sun., April 2, 2023) with Roman Reigns ...
Instead, Cody went for a kick and Reigns moved — so the referee took the shot. Cody managed to break out of a long guillotine, and maybe that would lead to the finish but no. The Cross Rhodes for two. The building was damn near shaking. A Cody Cutter for two. Solo Sikoa interfered a few times, and then one too many times, as he got caught hitting Cody with his own weight belt. But that only got two. Once we got to the near falls, they were electric. They did the slow build for it too, letting the tension breathe early in the match, going back-and-forth a bit to give both some shine. This had the exact feel you want out of a WrestleMania main event. The referee heard the smack, and sent Solo to the back to a thunderous ovation. When Reigns would slam Cody, Cody would turn around and get the same slam on Reigns.
Roman Reigns shocked the world that expected Cody Rhodes to end his legendary run to cap off a sensational WrestleMania weekend for WWE.
Asuka failed to land her mist, Belair missed with her hair and then Asuka locked in a nasty looking armbar as Belair looked for her KOD finisher. As the pair battled, Gunther suddenly made an impact to powerbomb both men and grab the 1,2,3. As the action broke down, Sheamus nearly had the win with a Brogue Kick, but McIntyre broke he pin. Then, as McIntyre lined up a claymore on the champion, Sheamus hit another Brogue Kick, but on the Scot this time. This was exactly what it needed to be. The champion powered out of the submission and deadlifted the challenger to land the KOD for the victory. Solo Sikoa was at ringside and kept getting involved before the ref threw him out. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler def. Likely because of her strapped up arm. A powerbomb on the outside of the ring had Asuka finished, but in the time it took Belair to roll her back into the ring, the Japanese star survived the pinfall. Sikoa would sneak back in as Rhodes had the match won and deliver the Samoan spike giving Reigns the chance to land a Spear for the win. Roman Reigns shocked the world that expected Cody Rhodes to end his legendary run to cap off a sensational WrestleMania weekend for

On April 2, during Night 2 of WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes' aspirations were crushed while Roman Reigns' notable championship reign persisted.
A frightening moment occurred when Balor was struck by a ladder and began bleeding, yet he persevered and finished the match. However, Belair persevered and was ultimately able to secure the victory. Following shortly after was the Grudge match between Edge and Finn Balor inside the Hell In A Cell structure, with both competitors aiming to obliterate each other. In a surprising turn of events, Snoop Dogg stepped up and defeated The Miz with a knockout punch, followed by his version of the People's Elbow, ultimately securing the win. As the other six competitors fiercely vied for superiority, Rousey took the opportunity to intervene and secure the win by forcing Shotzi to submit. Night 2's third match was the Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat, featuring Gunther defending the title against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre.

With Reigns' victory and McMahon's continued dominance after the WWE-UFC merger, fans are left questioning the future of WWE's creative direction.
The end game may have always been for Cody to prove his worth and return to WWE as the company's top star. And then remember that, when Sting finally agreed to sign with WWE after avoiding it for years, he was immediately booked to lose to Triple H in an effort to prove that the long-dead WCW was always inferior to WWE after all. Regardless of whether Vince McMahon or Triple H was responsible for the booking of WrestleMania, it served as a stark reminder of the old WWE that fans thought they'd escaped when McMahon retired last year. However, while Triple H may be more in touch with the industry than McMahon and show greater respect for wrestling skills, the apple-in-law doesn't fall far from the tree. For the second time in just a few months, WWE failed to capitalize on a crowd-supported babyface, instead feeding him to Roman Reigns. Moreover, during the mid-2000s, Triple H was notorious for leveraging backstage politics to bury opponents and advance his career. However, Sunday's show took a sharp turn, featuring a match between Brock Lesnar and Omos, a surprise Shane McMahon return (where he tore his quad and Snoop Dogg had to improvise an ending to his impromptu match with The Miz), and the cherry on top: Cody Rhodes losing to Roman Reigns in the main event, deflating the crowd and sparking questions about who was running this thing after all. Triple H spent decades learning the ropes under his father-in-law, echoing some of McMahon's sentiments about wrestlers needing to "grab the brass ring." Not only did the report suggest McMahon would stay put, but once WWE and Endeavor confirmed the news on Monday morning, it was announced that he would remain Executive Chairman indefinitely, putting him in the second-highest ranking position in the new conglomerate. When McMahon initially bowed out last year, Triple H assumed the role of head of creative, earning widespread praise during his tenure. The merger would unite WWE with UFC and see Vince McMahon appointed as Executive Chairman of both companies. The Samoan Spike from Solo Sikoa proved to be the final nail in the coffin, allowing Reigns to continue his historic championship reign.
